By referring to Modernisms we are reminded that Modernism occurred at different times in the Nordic literatures, and also Modernism appeared in different forms and held to different ideals even inside a single country. The essays gathered in this volume reflect the diversity also in their varying and methodological approaches. Thus, problems related to literary history, poetics, narratology, intermediality, aesthetics of reception and translation are discussed.
