Carl Hammoud is recognised as one of Sweden’s best known young artists. The Trick, his first monograph, shows us the unique, aestethic style of his paintings, drawings and sculptures. A recurring theme in Carl Hammoud’s artistry is the degree of insecurity that his images hold; how much can they stand, in the sense of being seen, understood or used? Where lie the limits between chaos and order, between the indeterminate and the comprehensible?

Carl Hammoud, born 1976, lives and work in Stockholm. He studied at the Department of Fine Arts, Valand, Gothenburg, from 1999 to 2004.
