This book, ""Risk Assessment for Groundwater Pollution Control"", presents the issues facing civil engineers involved in the control of contaminated groundwater and the use of risk assessment to mitigate this contamination. It explores such issues as: defining the level of contamination; determining which substances are contaminants; and deciding the level of restoration needed. These, and other issues are discussed within the framework of risk assessment and risk management. Critical components of risk assessment and risk management are described, as are their strengths and weaknesses.
