ICT could be used with casemanagment systems to improve the delivery of social work services to children and young people living in out of home care, or, ''in need'' in their own families. Utilising post-modern theory, this monograph explores the use of written text in social work and the impact of new technologies on work with children and young people. The research described, explores both case management techniques and access to and use of ICT amongst the disadvantaged. The monograph analyses the impact of ICT on social work communication.
