Foundry industry was once a booming industry in this eastern part of India employing thousands of people. The industry started to face lot of problem since the nineties due to lack of government support on one hand and paucity of fund on the other hand to finance technological up-gradation. Added to this was the growing consciousness of pollution that heavily bestowed this field.
