This work provides a reference for physicians treating problems related to the heart. It may be used by physicians and students as a concise, portable handbook when a larger reference is not available. The selected chapters are related to specific heart conditions and are organized to present clinical highlights. The focus of this handbook is on treatment, and drug therapy is emphasized. New chapters in the work include: diabetes affecting the heart, cardiac diseases in women, non-surgical intervention of peripheral blood vessels, non-surgical intervention of carotid disease, and extended medicine (also known as complimentary medicine).
