This introductory text on structural steel design continues Jack McCormac's tradition of writing textbooks that are accessible to students. Complicated theoretical derivations are presented in an easy-to-understand manner without overburdening students with technical explanations. The latest edition of this popular text conforms to AISC's 1989 Standards on Allowable Stress Design. Numerous topics have been expanded in the fourth edition including block shear, flexural-torsional buckling, and eccentrically loaded connections.
