Nursing work is a fundamental element in relieving the suffering of hospitalised paediatric patients, because nursing care is guided by the care needs of patients, respecting their subjectivity and uniqueness. This descriptive qualitative research was proposed out of a desire to understand and contribute to improving the nursing care offered in the paediatric clinic at the Tarc?sio de Vasconcelos Maia Regional Hospital. The research aimed to understand the care model developed by the nursing team at the paediatric clinic of the Tarc?sio de Vasconcelos Maia Regional Hospital.
