"The Columbia University School of Social Work: A Centennial Celebration" covers the full 100-year history of one of the premier schools of social work in the USA. By utilizing the perspectives of present and former faculty members who have been deeply involved in developing the CUSSW's curriculum, this book provides the most up-to-date, examination of the school's historical evolution, current practice methods and fields of special practice. The book begins with a historical overview of the school which includes a discussion of how the first curriculum was "invented", its later development into the two-year curriculum that serves as a standard for social work education today, and the significant societal changes that helped to shape the school throughout the years.
