Archaeologist Lindsay Chamberlain excavates the 1558 wreck of a Spanish galleon and finds evidence of a murder at sea. As she discovers clues to the identity of the murderer, her own situation becomes less tenable because of the presence of modern-day pirates and two killings possibly related to the excavation.
