In spite of enormous efforts made jointly by condensed matter physicists all over the world and the significant progress achieved so far in strongly correlated electrons systems, many important issues still remain open. This conference and workshop were mainly dedicated to these open questions. Several outstanding experimentalists were invited to give review talks should serve as an up-to-date reference volume in this fast-moving field.
