This volume constitutes the proceedings of the 7th European Knowledge Acquisition Workshop (EKAW '93), held in Toulouse and Caylus, France, in September 1993. EKAW '93 focused on knowledge acquisition for knowledge-based systems. Besides a scientific workshop on the subject, there was also a users' forum open to the public. This proceedings volume includes two surveys by Guy Boy and Brian Gaines and is divided into two sections: problem solving models, including building steps, support tools and the comparison of approaches; and life cycles and methodologies, including refinement, workbenches and elicitation techniques.
