For 150 years, the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Mission (FELM) has put into practice the mission of the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Church in different parts of the world. Its work, holistic proclamation and service, is carried out in cooperation with local churches. During 150 years the world has undergone profound changes - so has the FELM and its work.
From Faith to Action is the main publication of the FELM 150th anniversary year. The articles in the book are written by Finnish and foreign experts in different fields: Risto A. Ahonen, Tapani Harviainen, Eila Helander, Håkan Hellberg, Paulos Huang, Kati Kemppainen, Kjell Nordstokke, Juha Pihkala, Seppo Rissanen and Mano Rumalashah among others.
Work by the FELM and churches is viewed in the articles against changes in world politics, from the colonial period, World Wars and the cold war towards the 21st cnntury. The book deals also with the challenges set by the globalising world to church mission. The articles emphasise partnership with Lutheran churches as well as other actors in churches and society.
