Prevention is a relatively new area in the social sciences. This book is the first to describe what research shows about preventing ten pressing problems affecting today's youth: early developmental delays, childhood injuries, obesity, child maltreatment, risky sexual behavior, delinquency and substance abuse, youth violence, negative consequences of marital conflict and divorce, mental disorders, and domestic violence.
