Donna Leon, born in New Jersey in 1942, has worked as a tour guide in Rome and as an advertising journalist in London. She has taught literature in American schools in Switzerland, Iran, China and Saudi Arabia. The Guido Brunetti mysteries made her world famous. Donna Leon lived in Italy for many years, and although she now lives in Switzerland, she often visits Venice.
