Bertrand Chamayou celebrates Maurice Ravel’s 150th anniversary with Ravel: Fragments. The programme features Ravel’s transcriptions of La Valse and excerpts from Daphnis et Chloé, Chamayou’s own transcriptions of vocal works, and pieces inspired by Ravel by historic composers (Arthur Honegger, Joaquín Nin, Alexandre Tansman, Xavier Montsalvatge and Ricardo Viñes) and contemporary composers (Betsy Jolas, Salvatore Sciarrino and Frédéric Durieux).
"[La valse] sounds as if at least six hands are at work. This is a titanic, gripping account of this tumultuous piece, combining impact with warmth and projecting with absolute clarity the collapse of civilization around us. A timely vision." - BBC Music Magazine, May 2025
